Considering Catholicism explains the beliefs, history, Scripture, and life of the Catholic Church clearly and charitably. It's for curious Protestants, seekers, people in OCIA, and Catholics who want to know and share their faith.

Episodes range widely: the big questions Protestants ask about Mary, the Eucharist, the papacy, and salvation; the history of the Church and the early Church Fathers; walks through Scripture; conversations with a Protestant friend; and the Church's art, culture, and life. Every episode is faithful to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the show is free, ad-free, and listener-supported.

Your Host

Greg Smith, M.Div., spent decades serving across the Protestant world as a pastor, church planter, consultant, and writer before he and his wife entered the Catholic Church in 2016. That experience gives him an insider's understanding of the questions people bring to the Catholic faith. He serves on staff at his parish in West Michigan and is working on a new series, The History of Christendom, launching by Christmas 2026. He's deeply grateful to every listener and supporter who makes this show possible.

When he's not behind the microphone, Greg can usually be found at The Secret Compound with his Golden Retriever, Finnegan, the show's most loyal (and least theological) listener, sharing a fire pit, good conversation, and the occasional gas station pizza.
